Known for their dedication to high-quality service and innovation, Angus MacKinnon recently expanded operations with a new purpose-built bodyshop in Uttoxeter, designed to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
The Project
With sustainability at the forefront, Angus MacKinnon partnered with Todd Engineering to equip their new facility with state-of-the-art technology. Having previously used an external Olympian spray booth, owner Stuart was inspired by the exceptional performance of the Zeus all-electric spray booth at another customer’s site and decided to integrate this cutting-edge solution into the new facility.
Installed Equipment
- Two Zeus Full Downdraught Spray Booths:
- Powered entirely by electricity, eliminating the need for fossil fuels.
- Features advanced far infrared curing technology, curing paint at a molecular level for faster drying times and exceptional energy efficiency.
- Designed with a raised floor for optimized airflow and superior finishes.
- Paint Mixing Room (PMR):
- A dedicated space for precise color matching, featuring advanced controls for seamless workflow.
- Compressor System:
- High-performance equipment ensuring consistent air supply for all processes.
Sustainability Focus
The new bodyshop marks a significant step in Angus MacKinnon’s journey toward carbon neutrality. By integrating the Zeus spray booths, the facility dramatically reduces energy consumption and operational costs. Plans are already underway to incorporate solar energy, ensuring the bodyshop is powered by renewables, further aligning with their green goals.
