Todd Engineering have recently completed a new Titan Commercial Spraybooth installation for the worlds largest package delivery company UPS, the new spraybooth facility is part of a brand new 32,000 square meter package sorting and delivery facility at the DP World London Gateway logistics site in the south east of England. At close to £120 million, this project constitutes one of UPS’s largest infrastructure investments outside of the Untied States in the company’s history. The Facility, currently going through the final phase of completion, will act as a UK hub and distribution centre for the local area as well as key gateway to UPS’s global transportation network. Once operational, the facility will be able to process approximately 30,000 packages per hour, with room for further expansion.
Using Aconex Management Software, Todd Engineering were able to coordinate with main building contractors Buckingham Group, UPS representatives and all other contractors relevant to the spraybooth installation to ensure the project was delivered on time and met all requirements.
The Titan spraybooth includes Wallman Pneumatic access platforms which provides safe access for the painters when refinishing high sided vehicles, this eliminates the need for steps and other forms of access which can reduce productivity and safety. The spraybooth specification includes Todd Engineering’s state-of-the-art LED Lighting, Eco+ Energy Save Mode, Inverter Variable Speed Drive Motor Control with Cabin Auto-Pressurisation and a PLC control panel complete with full colour TFT Touch Screen Display.
